(Monday, 4 February)
Off. Feel like balls.
(Tuesday, 5 February)
Elliptical in the gym. It was bleh. My nose is really going at it today.
(Wednesday, 6 February)
Phlegmasaurus rex. Still not feeling much better. All I wrote in my spreadsheet this day was "uuuuugh I felt like death this whole run.... I wish I was dead. ". That pretty much covers it.
(Thursday, 7 February)
Ran with Heather on the track, which felt pretty good. Even though I could still feel the sickness in my lungs and coughing and nastiness, 7.30 pace still feels like a breeze, which is stupifying considering where I was, say, 2 years ago. I guess you get some miles on these legs and they just go and go. 2k, 1600, 1200, 4, 4, with some laps quicker with Garrett in there.
I wonder if it would be a good idea to do some runs with Garrett when Susan isn't here. He was doing about 92 pace for his mile/1200 ones, which would be great if I could keep up. Maybe if I was doing 12s and he was doing 16s or something like that.
(Friday, 8 February)
Prerace, which feels so silly now. Still not feeling too hot. Nose continues to not provide oxygen. Legs feel strangely sore.
(Saturday, 9 February)
Caltech All-Comers meet. Ran the 3k, but it wasn't so hot - I just did my best considering how I felt. I ran about 12.14, which was a little embarassing. But, I think I was relatively consistent and stayed on 5k pace for a little while at least. I was probably dehydrated from doing the HJ officiating beforehand, and kept almost getting cramps from not getting enough air. So, no big deal. Susan had a big fan group, which was awesome, and Kamalah was there (AWESOME!) Gus and Megumi were there too, which made me feel awesome. BB double header afterwards.
Nice drinks and flan with Megumi and Peter in the PM. So everything ends well.
(Sunday, 10 February)
Very pleasant evening run at the NF and weights/core with the gang: Megumi, Ian, Mark, Matt, Kangway, Peter. Nice cap to a productive weekend. Legs are feeling much better than yesterday.
