I can't believe I remembered to stop my watch. Should've run faster.

Week 1: Off

Monday (21 May)
Gym. Tried stairmaster for 20 minutes, failed. I thought that thing is supposed to help me tone my bum! But instead I just stood there taking turns grunting at it, trying to hold on to the bars to leverage my legs so I could get a workout, and spacing out while waiting to sink down to the floor so I could do a step again. Worthless. I wonder if my shoulder will ever be good enough that I could do the rowing machine. That looks fun. Some good stretching, weights (quads/leg press/hip ab-ad). Abs. Flaked out on the PT because I forgot my theraband. I'm a bad bad girl. Spotted IS before collapsing into a death like stupor.

Tuesday (22 May)
Rode around bikes with Matty looking for places to live, got some good leads. But none as good as mystery-sketch place on Greenwood. I wish I didn't have my heart set on it so much. It seriously rocks. I wonder if Parkwood would let us join the cooking co-op if we lived there. Also did PT.

Wednesday (23 May)
Swam 40 minutes, PT. Got a foam roller from Andres, who kept berating me about talking to Kangway too much (I guess he got stole one, too.) But apparently I'd better be careful with it because he said the next time I set foot in the training room, I'd better have it with me. Or else some sort of scary punishment only Andres could think up is going to happen to me. Yikes. Meeting with the team at Steele, got some good folks out. Looks like Becca will be back, which is awesome. Some new ones too. The women's team is going to be terrific. Eeeeexcellent.

Thursday (24 May)

Swam 35 minutes, PT in the evening. My lats are getting kinda sore from the breaststroke. I really need to have someone teach me how to swim properly. Got my bloodwork back, and it looks surprisingly good (hematocrit PR). Apparently I have a low RBC count, but the RBCs I do have are HUGE ("macrocytic anemia"), which is an indication of folate and B12 decifiency. Which doens't make sense, because I eat a lot of dairy. We'll see. Also looking forward to seasoning my cast-iron pan, which should help with iron uptake.

Friday (25 May)
More swimming, 35 minutes, abs by the pool in a disguised attempt to work on my tan for SD. Inner thighs and lats sore from breaststroke, but increased the number of laps I could do with the AC separation freestyle. It's getting stronger.

Saturday (26 May)
Chantry with Ian, felt SOOOO good to be on bike. It was hot but it didn't bother me too much. I have no climbing muscles. Lots of folks up at Chantry for the long weekend. Still very skittish descending, but the new strength in my shoulder made me feel much more stable on the bike while standing and climbing. Afterwards swapped handlebars for more narrow ones, shortened brake cables. Supercaliente orange bar tape = my bike is now a babe magnet. Fun times at Fatty's in the PM.

Sunday (27 May)
Swimming 30 minutes, saw Diana at pool. My black suit appears to be falling apart, shatting little black lint all over me. Legs real tired, esp. tight IT bands in the normal place. Drooled on the bench by the pool for a while. Feeling really good.
