(Monday, 28 May)
Off, lazed around, worked a little. PT on shoulder but otherwise just relaxing and trying to pretend CS 174 doesn't exist. Worked on the Windsor Profesional a little.
(Tuesday, 29 May)
Aquajog 30 minutes in between programming my eyeballs out.
(Wednesday, 30 May)
Ran on the north field 25 minutes with Ian, shoulder kinda hurt but stretching it helped. I'm a junkie. Can't even go 2 weeks without running. It just felt like the right thing to do. Weights and abs and stretching. Also, I want to build Howard a bike that's a little zippier and more comfortable than the one he has right now. When he misses the last bus, he has to bike home 1.5 hours to Boyle Heights! Even just smooth tires would help, but something lighter would be easier to handle than his mountain bike (especially getting it on and off the bus). We gotta find something light-ish, crappy looking, and robust (so that getting nudged by cars doesn't kill it.) A single speed might work, but probably fixed is not a good idea. What about that 3-speed hub that came in Larry's bounty?
(Thursday, 31 May)
Off, worked on 174. Al says my numerical solution is fine so I guess I should just stop coding and throw in the towel. Feels like a cop-out though. PT, read some to chill out before hitting the sack. I'm getting strung out on stress, I hate this feeling.
(Friday, 1 June)
Hit the gym, got my HR up to 187 on the bike! (I did 10 minutes to warm up for lifting, so I started at level 5 for 2 minutes, then increased the level one per minute until 10 minutes was up). I can't believe that thing goes up to level 25!
Me: (sweating uncontrollably) I got my HR up to 187 at level 13. What the fuck is level 25 like?
JGonz: I'd show you, but I can't go down a level.
Priceless. So, I lifted and stretched and did abs and all the good stuff (PT). I actually legitimately touched my toes, too, which was good.
(Saturday, 2 June)
Rode an old favorite with Ian - 39 to E Fork to GMR (front side). What a great day! I love the bike -- it's been so long since I did an all-day ride like that. The weather was warm, (no tan lines yet) and the donuts we scavenged from Encanto were soooo good. It was the first long ride with the new (narrower) handlebars, and I love it. I felt much better in the drops than before, and much more connected to the bike on places where I wanted good handling, like the patches of tight turns on the descent. I should have done this ages ago! So, to all you ladies out there, don't let Steve tell you that women are "less stable" then men and therefore need wider handlebars. Having handlebars that are actually closer to the width of your shoulders feel (to me) more natural, more balanced, and are easier to climb in the dropouts.
(Sunday, 3 June)
Finished the last of my coursework today, saw the place on Greenwood, and promptly fell into a stupor. Ian kindly sat me down, fed me frozen raspberries, and gave me something I could do to feel useful -- build a wheel for him. I have never been so contented. Too bad I suck at wheel building, but hey, it's a learning experience and I got practice at the, ahem, iterative process.

I can't believe I remembered to stop my watch. Should've run faster.
