I can't believe I remembered to stop my watch. Should've run faster.

Week 4: a whole new running-palooza

(Monday, 11 June)
Day off to nurse stupid turned heel. Drove to SD, got moved, kinda out of sorts. Rode the route to UCSD and was pleasantly surprised by how nice it is. A friendly fellow named Sheldon showed me a shortcut and a fun steep hill to go up on the way.

(Tuesday, 12 June)
Ran the Lagoon route with Steve and Dave, although GPS claims the run is shorter than the at least 6.5 they usually give it. Steve ran me pretty hard up the hills but I felt good about pushing myself. My tummy didn't feel so hot afterwards though. Ran around town/campus with Lisa afterwards, and met the Gaslamp district of SD. Pretty swank, but the ice cream at Ghiradelli's was a rip-off. Also biked to and from work.

(Wednesday, 13 June)
Ran around the beach area of Solana Beach (~1 hour), saw Cedros district and racetrack. Plotting to go to the county fair! Piglets here we come. Question of the day: why do my ears pop when I ride down the Torrey Pines hill? Answer: Because the wind is going so fast past my ears that it is at a lower pressure than at rest.

(Thursday, 14 June)
Tour de Lagoon; did a binary search of all the trails, found some REALLY steep ones to pound when I'm feeling frisky (1:15, maybe 8 miles). Rode to Torrey Pines to meet Lisa and went on to La Jolla Shores beach, where it was finally sunny. May have burnt myself. Great day. Met with Mattias, drank coffee, feeling good about the summer again. Don't have to go to work until Monday!

(Friday, 15 June)
Unexpectedly back in Pasadena; also slightly over intended mileage so I used it as an opportunity to ease off. Ran down Huntington on the grass but feet were bothering me, so I went back through streets.

(Saturday, 16 June)
Hot! Did some easy stuff around Orlando/Arden area. Did I mention it was hot?

(Sunday, 17 June)
Called pops, ran on the beach with DL. North to South from Fletcher cove hitting the two rivers. The sand is nice and hard when it's low tide, so this will be a good way to work up my barefoot miles when I feel like it. Just so you're jealous: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1059458
