(Monday, 16 June)
Moving day. Finished stuff up at Wilson and schlepped over to Parkwood. I have so much stuff! Moving is awful! But it's nice to have my things here now I guess. Coupla miles on the NF with Garrett (briefly) and then Ian. It was pretty nice to get the legs going, but sheesh, it's getting hot.
(Tuesday, 17 June)
I was fiddling around the house I guess, but I don't really know what else happened. I guess I went to campus for a while and turned in my keys and such and hung out with Mathieu. Ah, vacation.
(Wednesday, 18 June)
Rode up to Clear Creek (well, to the top before CC) with Tracy. Sad day! Tracy's going to Innsbruck for a postdoc. Sad, sad moi! I helped her take her bed apart and we ate Europan, which was pretty delicious! Then I worked on the chicken coop fence and made dinner.
The ride was pretty quick, I accused Tracy of half-wheeling me about halfway up the 2, but then she counter-accused me of pushing the pace early on, so I guess we were both guilty. I was riding the white 130mm saddle that was all racy because I forgot to change it before I left, and it was pretty awful! It felt great until about 1.35 in, and then I suddenly had some extreme discomfort in the crotchal area. It was almost like a foot falling asleep or something. Yeesh.
Also I bought a new computer, but I still haven't taken it out of the box yet. Hmm.
(Thursday, 19 June)
Rode up the 39 to the East Fork turnoff, then turned around and came back. It was pretty toasty; it hit 100 in Pasadena today according to the Parkwood thermometer. My legs are feeling pretty good, but the jury's out on the saddle (Dave's old one, the 143mm Avatar).

Week 6: ahhh....
(Friday, 20 June)
Ran with Susan a little longer version of Lorain. We went up Oak Grove. It was pretty nice! My legs sure are feeling a bit silly from the bike riding, though. Heavy, clunky, and a bit out of shape. In the afternoon I drove up to Tuolumne with Ian. I am a bad, bad backseat driver. Sorry, world.
(Saturday, 21 June)
Hanging out in Tuolumne.
(Sunday, 22 June)
Hanging out. Took a nice hike out to a sweet swimming hole.

Katherine, you were in the most bizarre sports adventure dream I've ever had. First, you, Megumi, and I were running around looking for this awesome flooded trail to run on, which quickly turned into an ascent up a huge staircase into the sky where they handed out free delicious muffin-scones, and then you were doing push ups on this invisible glass panel that slid and then you were dangling from the sky, but climbed back to the pipe that used to be a staircase. Then we decided to go rock climbing, and we were dangling from some huge boulders before we were about to climb this one mile high leaning tower with rock climbing holds on it, which I was terrified to climb, so I kept insisting that we needed more safety gear just in case something broke, but you kept saying "nahhh, we don't need extra cables," which scared the crap out of me. Then this funny little man kept demonstrating how once you're at the top of the thing, you deploy your weather-balloon parachute and fly back down. Then I woke up and realized it was pretty ridiculous.
