I can't believe I remembered to stop my watch. Should've run faster.

Week 7: hanging out in the Bay.

(Monday, 23 June)

Short bike ride around Tuolumne. Smoke in air was bad from wildfires. Then we drove to Oakland.

(Tuesday, 24 June)
Worked away in Los Altos.

(Wednesday, 25 June)
Ran around Piedmont, then down Lakeshore to Lake Merritt and around and back up Grand. It was a longer run than I expected but very pleasant and Ian let me set the pace at slooooow. I did get called a "gentleman" by a homeless guy selling newspapers, though. That wasn't so great. But I'm sure he was corrected when he saw my glorious booty as I passed.

(Thursday, 26 June)
Went to the YMCA with my dad. They've done a lot of good work on the place! They even have curtains in the showers now. Did some treadmill, weights, and then some elliptical. I got very sweaty.

(Friday, 27 June)
Running highlight of the trip. Chilled with Herr Ogliore up in Berkeley, enjoying the hills. I felt a wee bit pathetic by the end because I am so out of running shape right now but Ryan assured me it was 6 miles or so, so I feel a bit better about that. He and Ian make for good conversation so I was glad to huff and puff and listen to their chatter. We even got to see some urban farm animals at the park, including me memorably shouting the F-cuss just as a small impressionable child and her dad came around the corner. Classic Breeden. Then we trotted along part of the course we used to do in high school, so that was pretty sweet! I remembered it pretty well.

(Saturday, 28 June)
Ran with Mark down at Stanford. Not bad running down there! More importantly it was nice to see Markkimarkkonnen. He delighted us with tales of his confrontation with some pavement. Then we feasted on fresh fruit and Kirk Burgers. Mmmmm.

(Sunday, 29 June)
Drove back to Pasadena, worked on bikes.
