I can't believe I remembered to stop my watch. Should've run faster.

Transition week

(Monday, 4 August)

Rather off; rode the trainer 50 minutes really relaxed and chill.

(Tuesday, 5 August)
Off, I got really tired on my feet today.

(Wednesday, 6 August)
Man, long run today. Started out going to do upper arroyo but when we got to the RB ended up doing the trail loop and then coming back on CA via the arroyo trail, so that was pretty cool. I bonked hard about a mile to go but made it back in one piece. I was dehydrated and lacking susties I think.

(Thursday, 7 August)
Drove to the river trail with the newly-revamped bike (with interrupter levers). It felt good, and I felt really good on the bike. Not too rusty feeling. I did 30 minutes warmup, then 3 on 2 off times 4, 5 on 5 off, 10 on 5 off, 5 on 5 off, 3 on 2 off times 4. I stayed in the drops as much as possible, and it felt much more comfortable than before. Gotta keep stretching!

(Friday, 8 August)
Lower Arroyo with Susan, Ian, Jasper. It was really nice! Susan is finally breathing hard these days, but I was still definitely the caboose. Had an AWESOME big breakfast at Chandler afterwards.

(Saturday, 9 August)
Trail run at JPL trails. Had a mix up so I spent most of the run really worried that Ian was lying by the side of the road somewhere. So, I'll just have to go back and do it again some time. It ended up being about 12 miles of trail; Upper Brown Mtn fire road almost until it ended. I was pretty thirsty by the end!

(Sunday, 10 August)
Rode GMR front to EF/39 and back with Heather. It was very nice; the weather wasn't too hot until the end. Working on the tan lines. :) Heather is doing so great, I'm sad she's going to be gone during XC, because she's really fit. We kept it really easy until EF when I took over the pulls. Got some delish burgers afterwards, which was totally great.

The finger hasn't been triggering that much, so I think things are getting better. I'll stay off the bike tomorrow though.

Totals: 30.5 miles (running, only 3 runs!)
95 miles (bike)
